KATERINA TANA DESIGN founded in 1998, is a design firm specializing in Interiors and Landscapes, based in Venice Beach, California.
Katerina Tana was born in Los Angeles, and raised in London and on the Dalmatian Coast, in what is now Croatia. Her education in Britain (Queen’s College, and Holland Park) spans the literary and visual arts, and she speaks Italian, French and Serbo Croatian. At the University of York she designed the sets for numerous theatrical productions, including one at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. After a stint of photo editing the autobiography of maestro film director Fred Zinneman, Katerina returned to California, and transitioned to residential interiors and landscapes. At UCLA where she studied Botany and Horticulture the attention was given to the native Californian style. KTD’s projects have since expanded to include office and hospitality projects.
Design projects span from-the-ground-up construction to remodels, as well as establishing a brand identity. Our focus is the architecture and the overall cohesive vision connecting the interior and the exterior spaces. Central to every project is creating a context for an inspired and breathtaking environment which people can call their own.
Katerina’s work has been featured on the covers and in several international publications including Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, House and Garden (UK) and Western Interiors and Design.
